BPB 2010 curated programme was presented in partner venues and participating organisations in Brighton & Hove at: Brighton Museum & Art Gallery; Fabrica, Lighthouse, Photoworks, University of Brighton Design Archives and University of Brighton Gallery.

A programme of related exhibitions was presented at participating venues across the South East region including: Aspex (Portsmouth), Pallant House Gallery (Chichester), The Towner (Eastbourne) and De La Warr Pavilion (Bexhill on Sea).

Brighton Photo Biennial’s mission is to collaborate with partner venues and visual arts organisations in the South East region to show high quality photographic and related artwork to the widest possible audience, bring the best international photography to the UK, exhibit recent and newly-commissioned work, and encourage and showcase local talent by working closely with Brighton Photo Fringe.

Brighton Photo Biennial is a Company Limited By Guarantee, no. 5759848 and a Registered Charity, no. 1114658. The Biennial receives funding from Arts Council England of up to 50% of its costs, but must raise the remaining 50% towards its core operational and programme activity.

The Biennial’s programme includes: exhibitions, commissions, artist-led projects and education projects involving the participation of communities, young people and students, events, publishing, podcasts and online space. All exhibitions and projects are free and accessible.

Brighton Photo Biennial appreciates all the support we receive from public and private agencies. We are constantly working to develop and extend the Biennial.

Friend / Patron

Volunteer or Intern
You can also support Brighton Photo Biennial with your time. Brighton Photo Biennial Internships and Volunteer Positions have been developed to provide opportunities for professional career development in the visual arts sector and provide work experience. Throughout the year, Interns and Volunteers, undertake work 'behind the scenes' which enhances the Biennial's ability to deliver its programme. As a an Intern you will gain experience in a specific area of the Biennial's activities from communications and marketing, documenting and recording through to arts education, exhibition and events organising to general arts administration. You will be expected to commit one day a week for a minimum of six months. As a Volunteer, you will assist in supporting key aspects of the Biennial operations as and when needed, leading up to the next edition and during the festival period, including being part of the events team, providing exhibition installation support, invigilation or being in the role of information assistants and event stewards, and ambassadors. Interns and volunteers are essential to the operation of the Brighton Photo Biennial. Contact us to register your interest as a Volunteer or Intern.
